Lakehouse Visit June 5-7th

A few weeks ago Dustin & I spent a fun and relaxing weekend at Sandra and Pat's Lakehouse. I never posted pictures of that trip so here they are along with the amazing recipe for Chocolate Gravy.








Chocolate Gravy

1 cup sugar
3 TBSP Flour
1/2 tsp salt
3 TBSP cocoa
3 cups milk
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 stick butter

Mix together and cook over medium heat until thickens. Serve over biscuits. * I would not recommend this for weight loss but it is a good "splurge" :)

Honeymoon in Aruba

Dustin & I had a wonderful honeymoon in Aruba and were so happy we decided to go there. First, our resort The Tamarijn All-Inclusive was so nice. It wasn't a five-star resort but for the price we paid it was great! The room was decent and very clean and you could not complain about the view. Plus, the food was readily avaiable at all times and tasted great! Our Room The View from Our Balcony



The main things we did on our trip were:

1) Strea Charters Snorkeling Cruise
This ended up being just Dustin, me, and the boat's owner John. It was 4 hours and sooo relaxing! We made a snorkel stop which Dustin liked more than me. The water was very rough and choppy and I'm not a strong swimmer so I hung out close to the boat on the life preserver. I was very scared I may drown (some tears were shed, LOL). But, the stop was beautiful. John told us so much info about Aruba and gave us a great lunch of Chicken Salad sandwich's and fruit. We put sunscreen on when we got on the boat but never reapplied and we very burned the next day!! But, this was a great time.

2) We rented a car one day and explored the island on our own. This was so much fun. Aruba is so small we got around really easily and never got lost. Plus, you feel safe everywhere you go. People in Aruba are so friendly that I never felt unsafe.

3) Dustin played golf at the Robert Trent Jones course Tierra Del Sol one morning. He loved it. There were tons of wild goats around the course.

Those were the highlights of the trip. Below are a few assorted pictures. If anyone needs a great place to vacation, we highly recommend Aruba and hope to go back again in the future.

Trip to Georgia & Stone Mountain

This weekend Dustin, his parents, and I went to Covington to visit Dustin's brothers family. It was an early morning on Saturday because Dustin's parents picked us up at 5 am. Once in Covington, we hung out at the house with all of the kids. They are always so much fun to be around and so funny!

Saturday evening we drove to Stone Mountain outside of Atlanta. Dustin & I had never been there before and can't wait to go back. It's a huge mountain of rock with a big park surronding it. We ate a picnic on the grass lawn and then walked around. The kids & Dustin's family rode the train around the park. Then, we watched the Laser Light & firework show. It was really cool. They have a hotel there and a golf course so Dustin & I would like to stay there one weekend.

LAS VEGAS

I had a great time in Las Vegas. It was so much fun to see my friends Nevine & Neha again. The last time we were all together was Memorial Day weekend 2006 in Chicago.

We stayed at the MGM Grand. If I ever go back to Vegas, I will totally stay there again. The rooms were so nice and there was so much to do in the hotel. The bed there was actually more comfortable than my bed at home. Here's a picture of me with my favorite slot machine, GOLDFISH!!!




But, my new favorite game is KENO which I won $800 playing, WOO-HOO!!! Below is a pic of my winning Keno game! So, my lucky numbers (which I picked randomly) are 15, 16, 18, 24, 25, 35. I give credit to the bartender at Hard Rock Casino who told us we could play less numbers than 10 and that the numbers usually hit in a group.




Some of the trip highlights were seeing the canals inside the Venetian, going up to the top of the Eiffel Tower at Paris casino, lunch buffet and the watershow at The Bellagio, dinner at Olives in the Bellagio, and eating at the Pink Taco in the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, and the David Copperfield show at the MGM. I was not impressed by the New York New York casino. Below are some assorted pictures from the weekend.








Awesome Chihuly display on the ceiling of the Bellagio Lobby. The only reason I know his artwork is because the Oklahoma City of Art has a collection of his work. It's a really awesome collection if you ever find yourself in Oklahoma City.
